The Incident – Country, Rock & Pure Live Energy

It all started with a one-off backyard barbecue show at the top of a mountain in Mindoro, WI – Dennyfest 2025, a few too many laughs, and the realization that this group of seasoned musicians with wildly different styles could create something that felt… electric. That “something” became The Incident — a band that blends country grit, Southern swagger, and arena-rock energy into every live performance.

At the core are Dean and Heather Ratliff, a powerhouse vocal duo whose playful onstage chemistry and emotional punch make every song feel personal. Whether they’re harmonizing on a heartbreak ballad or trading lines on a rowdy outlaw anthem, they bring the fire.

On guitar, John Bergeron adds bite and soul, channeling everything from Skynyrd to Slash. Mark Cahak lays down thunder on the bass—and as the unofficial road captain, he can back up a trailer better than most people parallel park. John Pagot brings versatility and edge, switching seamlessly between keys, acoustic, and electric guitar. Behind the kit, Jeff Oscarson drives the whole thing home with tight, powerful drumming and a knack for holding the chaos together with a grin.

The Sound:

The Incident serves up a setlist built to move a crowd — from “Folsom Prison Blues” and “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” to “Sweet Child of Mine” and “What’s Up?” You’ll hear country, blues, classic rock, and ‘90s hits all with a fresh, live-wire twist.

The Road So Far:

From Milwaukee clubs and Midwest festivals to recording at Sun Studio in Memphis and playing stages in Nashville, the band has grown a loyal following by showing up with passion and leaving nothing behind.

If you're looking for a night of tight harmonies, big energy, and zero pretense, The Incident is the kind of band that turns casual listeners into fans—and fans into friends.
